"Episode 5" is the fifth episode and series premiere of Season 1 of Sweet Home, and the fifth episode overall.
Synopsis[]
Tasked to carry out dangerous missions, Hyun-su heads back to retrieve Han Du-Sik. Sang-wook stops at nothing to finish what he started.
Plot[]
Yi-kyung confronts Eun-hyeok for using Hyun-su, and Eun-hyeok explains he is their strongest weapon. He planned on switching the votes to let him stay, but to his surprise it wasn't necessary as there was no reason for the others to leave Hyun-su. Eun-hyeok also reveals he read a blog in which someone knew about the disease before it spread. Seeing the blog, Yi Kyung recalls seeing her fiancé also reading that blog.
Du-sik deliberates killing Myung-sook (a monster now), but finds it hard when remembers her story about her daughter. He shuts the door, deciding to not do anything yet.
Pyeon-wook and Hyun-su head upstairs to bring back Du-sik. Hyun-su feels there is a monster on the floor and wants to kill it. He opens the door, but Pyeon-wook punches him to bring him to him senses. However in that moment, the long hand of the Reach Monster grabs Pyeon-wook's head and pulls him in. Hyun-su goes after him, but encounters a speed -Monster. Just before the monster hits him, he shoots the monster with an arrow and causes it to run away. Yu-ri and Seop-ahn see Hyun-su and unconscious Pyeon-wook and decide to help. When Pyeon-wook wakes up, he stands up and leaves. Ahn realizes Hyun-su is infected and tries chasing him out, but reveals he is joking and will be joining him to save the children. They reach Du-sik.
Having obtained a key from Yoon-Jae, Pyeon-wook unlocks the next door to Yoon-Jae's apartment. He finds photo studio and multiple pictures of Yoon-Jae abusing children. Yoon-Jae realize he lost his keys and reveals he isn't infected. He looks for a weapon to use against Pyeon-wook. As Pyeon-wook goes on the first floor, Yoon-Jae attack's him with a hammer, but Pyeon-wook manages to stop him and proceeds beating him with the hammer, stating he doesn't deserve human death. He opens the entrance shutters and drags Yoon-Jae outside. Barely standing, Pyeon-wook takes Su-ung and Min-ju's bodies back inside where they bury them. Hyun-su and the rest return to the first floor, bringing the children.
Later on that night, the Tongue Monster feeds on Yoon-Jae, when a larger monster grabs him.
